Job Description
This contract role for a Business Consultant within our Advisory Service team in Rustenburg, North West, presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to high-impact client engagements. You will work closely with diverse clients across the region, helping them to identify strategic opportunities, overcome operational challenges, and implement sustainable solutions. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent client-facing skills. You will be responsible for understanding complex business problems, conducting thorough research and analysis, developing tailored recommendations, and supporting clients through the implementation phase. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage consulting engagements from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope while exceeding client expectations.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of client business processes, market conditions, and operational data to identify key issues, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop comprehensive business cases, strategic recommendations, and detailed implementation roadmaps tailored to client-specific needs and objectives.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder meetings to gather critical information, build consensus, and drive collaborative problem-solving.
- Prepare and present clear, compelling reports and presentations to senior client management, articulating complex concepts with clarity and impact.
- Provide expert guidance and hands-on support during the implementation of recommended solutions, ensuring smooth transitions and sustainable outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute actively to knowledge sharing within the advisory practice, enhancing team capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for additional client engagement and proactively support business development efforts, contributing to the firm's growth.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in business consulting, advisory services, or a similar strategic role.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering data-driven insights.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and navigate complex project environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with relevant data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Deep understanding of business operations, strategy development, and change management principles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing, collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma, TOGAF).
- Experience working with clients in the mining, manufacturing, or public sector industries in South Africa, particularly within the North West region.
- Prior experience in a 'Big Four' or reputable management consulting firm.
- Proficiency in an additional South African language (e.g., Setswana, Afrikaans).
