Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze complex laboratory experiments and research projects related to product development, quality improvement, and process optimization.
- Develop and validate new analytical methods and procedures for testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Interpret and present scientific data and research findings clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders, including management and cross-functional teams.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and troubleshooting as needed.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, research papers, and documentation in accordance with scientific standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure strict adherence to all laboratory safety protocols, quality control standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and marketing teams to translate research insights into commercially viable products.
- Stay abreast of scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and industry trends to inform research strategies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior lab technicians and scientists, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple research projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project objectives and budgets.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a research and development or quality control laboratory setting, preferably within the food, beverage, or agricultural industry.
- Proven expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical interpretation.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining standard laboratory equipment (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, pH meters, rheometers).
- Strong understanding of GLP, HACCP, ISO standards, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software.
- Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques and consumer testing methodologies.
