Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and visionary Architect Creative Planner to join our dynamic team in Bungoma County. This pivotal role requires a professional who can seamlessly blend architectural expertise with innovative planning and design sensibilities. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and executing groundbreaking architectural projects from initial ideation through to final detailed design. You will be responsible for translating client needs and project briefs into compelling architectural solutions that are aesthetically pleasing, functionally efficient, and environmentally sustainable. This position demands a creative thinker with a strong portfolio, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of local building regulations and sustainable design practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptualization and development of architectural designs for various projects, from residential to commercial and civic.
  • Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, 3D renderings, and detailed architectural drawings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and budget constraints, translating them into innovative design solutions.
  • Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Oversee the preparation of tender documents, specifications, and construction details.
  • Participate in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Stay abreast of emerging architectural trends, technologies, and sustainable design principles.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in architectural design and planning, preferably within Kenya.
  • Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design capabilities and technical proficiency.
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and structural principles.
  • Solid knowledge of Kenyan building codes, zoning regulations, and planning policies.
  • Exceptional conceptual, graphic, and design presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Architect with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) in Kenya.
  • Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Experience with sustainable design principles and LEED certification projects.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or experience in project leadership roles.
