Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a highly visible presence on the sales floor to deter potential shoplifters and discourage dishonest activity.
- Actively observe customers and staff for suspicious behaviors or indicators of theft.
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV, if applicable) and report any unusual activity.
- Respond calmly and effectively to potential theft incidents, following established company procedures and legal guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with store management and staff to identify high-risk areas and implement effective prevention strategies.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, including sales areas, stockrooms, and exits.
- Assist in the recovery of stolen merchandise, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on all incidents of theft, suspicious activity, and losses.
- Provide excellent customer service by being approachable, answering inquiries, and assisting customers when needed, while maintaining a security mindset.
- Ensure all security equipment is functioning correctly and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant local laws regarding loss prevention and apprehension.
