Career.zycto is seeking dedicated Emergency Response Paramedics to join our vital team in Kawangware, Nairobi. As a Paramedic with Career.zycto, you will be on the front lines, responding to a wide array of emergency calls, from medical crises and trauma incidents to accidents and public health emergencies. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients rapidly, initiate advanced life support interventions, administer medications, manage airways, control bleeding, and stabilize patients for safe transport to appropriate medical facilities. You will operate under pressure, making critical decisions independently and as part of a cohesive team, often in challenging and unpredictable environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and safely to emergency calls and medical requests.
  • Perform rapid patient assessment, diagnosis, and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
  • Administer advanced pre-hospital medical care, including IV therapy, medication administration, airway management, and cardiac monitoring.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of medical equipment and emergency vehicles.
  • Provide safe and efficient transport of patients to medical facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed patient care records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and other emergency services.
  • Adhere strictly to all medical protocols, policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure cleanliness, inventory, and operational readiness of ambulances and medical equipment.

Required Skills

  • Valid Paramedic License/Certification (Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council registration preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing Paramedic in an emergency setting
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean record
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • High level of empathy and compassion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification
  • Experience in an urban emergency response environment in Nairobi
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the local community (e.g., Swahili)
  • Experience with electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) systems
  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Paramedicine or Emergency Medical Technology
