Job Description

Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM) in Nhaconjo, Beira, is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Aide to join our dynamic team. You will work within our state-of-the-art facilities, employing analytical techniques and visual inspections to identify any deviations from our stringent quality specifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to established protocols.
  • Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory evaluations to ensure products meet specific quality parameters.
  • Accurately record and document inspection results, maintaining detailed logs and reports.
  • Identify and report any non-conforming products or processes immediately to the Quality Control Supervisor.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in sensory panels to evaluate product taste, aroma, and appearance.
  • Assist in the preparation of samples for further laboratory analysis.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety and hygiene regulations within the production and laboratory areas.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Control department.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate in food science, chemistry, or a related field is a plus.
  • 1 year of experience in a quality control or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of basic quality assurance principles.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken) is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in sensory evaluation of food or beverage products.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude.
