Job Description

Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge is seeking a dedicated HR Assistant Recruitment Support to join our vibrant Human Resources team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring we attract, identify, and onboard the best talent to maintain our reputation for world-class hospitality and service.

As the HR Assistant Recruitment Support, you will be the backbone of our talent acquisition efforts, playing a critical role in the entire recruitment lifecycle. You’ll be the first point of contact for many prospective employees, meaning your professionalism and efficiency will directly shape their initial experience with Sarova Taita Hills. Your daily responsibilities will span from assisting with job postings and managing applicant pipelines to scheduling interviews, coordinating pre-employment checks, and preparing comprehensive onboarding documentation. You will work closely with the HR Manager and various departmental heads to understand staffing needs, ensuring that our recruitment strategies align with the operational demands of a luxury game lodge.

Beyond recruitment, you will contribute to general HR administration, maintaining meticulous employee records, updating HR databases, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality. You will play a key part in fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting employee inquiries, and contributing to various HR initiatives aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction and retention. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the full cycle of recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies on various platforms, and screening resumes.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, assessments, and follow-up communications with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure accurate and up-to-date candidate records.
  • Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, and new hire paperwork, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Conduct initial onboarding procedures, including orientation logistics and HR system introductions for new employees.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with general HR inquiries from employees, providing support and guidance or escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support the HR Manager in various HR projects and initiatives, including employee engagement activities and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations, assisting with regular audits of HR documentation.
  • Generate recruitment-related reports and analytics to track key metrics and inform future strategies.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an HR administrative or recruitment support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with HRIS/ATS systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Zoho Recruit).
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality or tourism industry.
  • Membership in a relevant professional HR body (e.g., IHRM).
