Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in a structured training program designed to teach comprehensive vehicle inspection protocols.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operational, in-service, and post-operational inspections of company vehicles under supervision.
  • Learn to accurately identify and document mechanical defects, damage, and non-compliance issues.
  • Assist in maintaining detailed inspection records and reports using digital and manual systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with maintenance and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of identified vehicle issues.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and local transportation regulations and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the inspection area, tools, and equipment.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development relevant to vehicle mechanics and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for discrepancies.
  • Basic understanding or genuine interest in automotive mechanics and vehicle systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Swahili preferred).
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and adhere to established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Tanzanian Class B or C driving license.
  • Prior experience in a garage, workshop, or related automotive setting (even informal or voluntary).
  • A certificate or diploma in automotive technology, mechanics, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in both Swahili and English for effective communication within a diverse team.
