As a Pest Control Helper, you will work closely with our experienced Pest Control Technicians, providing crucial support in the execution of pest control treatments across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Your role will be hands-on, involving preparation of treatment areas, handling equipment, mixing and applying solutions under supervision, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Pest Control Technicians in carrying out pest control treatments and services.
  • Prepare treatment areas by moving furniture, covering sensitive items, and securing premises.
  • Load and unload equipment, chemicals, and supplies from company vehicles.
  • Mix and prepare pest control solutions according to precise instructions and safety guidelines, under supervision.
  • Apply pesticides, baits, and traps as directed by the lead technician.
  • Inspect premises for signs of pests, entry points, and potential harborage areas.
  • Maintain and clean pest control equipment, tools, and company vehicles.
  • Interact professionally with clients, answering basic questions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including service reports and treatment logs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and challenges.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance pest control knowledge and skills.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and safety labels.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment operation.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Valid Tanzanian driving license (Class D or higher) and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic communication skills in English and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a physical labor role, construction, or general maintenance.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and hazardous material handling.
  • Customer service experience.
  • A genuine interest in environmental health and pest management.
