Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our dynamic workshop team in Meadowbrook, St. Andrew. As an Experienced Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, braking, steering, electrical, HVAC) using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
- Execute routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Conduct major and minor repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, and other mechanical components.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Perform wheel alignments, brake system repairs, and suspension component replacements.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and repair times.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and estimated costs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous learning and training.
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a positive team environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic in a professional workshop setting.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, braking, and suspension.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software (e.g., scan tools, oscilloscopes).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification from a recognized automotive institution.
- ASE certification or equivalent local automotive certifications.
- Experience with specific vehicle brands or specialized automotive systems.

- Previous experience mentoring junior technicians.
