Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician Contractor specializing in industrial wiring for a crucial project within our operations in Pembroke Hall, St. Andrew. This contract role is ideal for a self-motivated professional passionate about precision, safety, and delivering high-quality electrical solutions in an industrial setting. As a contractor, you will be responsible for a range of tasks from new installations and upgrades to troubleshooting and maintenance of complex industrial electrical systems. Key Responsibilities
- Execute industrial wiring installations, upgrades, and modifications in accordance with national electrical codes (NEC) and local regulations.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in industrial machinery, control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), and power distribution systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to complete projects accurately.
- Install and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and other automation components.
- Ensure all work adheres to strict safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to plan and execute electrical projects effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support for operational teams as required.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience as an Industrial Electrician, with a strong focus on wiring.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing three-phase power systems, motor controls, and industrial machinery.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of conduit bending and installation (EMT, Rigid, IMC).
- Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider).
- Certification in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc flash safety.
- Previous experience working as a contractor in a large-scale manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Possession of own hand tools and basic specialized electrical testing equipment.
