Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, dressing, and feeding, whilst promoting independence and dignity.
- Administer medication as prescribed, maintaining accurate records and adhering to strict protocols.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, offering guidance and support to ensure high standards of care delivery.
- Monitor and record clients' health conditions, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical or supervisory staff.
- Assist with meal preparation and light household duties to ensure a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of care provided, observations, and incidents.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience in medication administration and care plan management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults policies and procedures.
- Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working with diverse client groups, including dementia or learning disabilities.
