Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of roofing systems, including but not limited to flat roofs, pitched roofs, metal roofs, and asphalt shingles.
- Conduct thorough inspections of roofs to identify leaks, damage, and areas requiring repair or replacement.
- Prepare roof surfaces by cleaning, removing debris, and applying primers or sealants as necessary.
- Cut and shape roofing materials to fit specific dimensions and configurations.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and working at heights.
- Work collaboratively with other construction team members, including carpenters, masons, and project managers.
- Apply waterproofing membranes, insulation, and flashing materials accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
- Ensure that all roofing work meets quality standards and building codes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Roofing Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of various roofing materials and installation techniques (e.g., bitumen, PVC, TPO, metal sheets, tiles).
- Ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform demanding tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction blueprints and specifications.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in roofing or construction.
- Experience with advanced roofing systems or green roofs.
- Valid driving license.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
