Hungry.mu is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Delivery Riders to join our dynamic team, specializing in efficient courier and parcel delivery services within China Town and broader Port Louis. As a Delivery Rider, you will be responsible for picking up food orders and other parcels from various partner establishments and delivering them safely and on time to our diverse customer base. This role requires excellent time management skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a friendly, professional demeanor. You’ll navigate the unique charm and bustling energy of China Town, ensuring quick and accurate deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport food orders and other parcels from partner restaurants/merchants to customer locations within Port Louis, with a focus on China Town.
- Adhere strictly to assigned delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Verify order accuracy and secure packaging before departure and upon delivery.
- Handle cash payments and manage electronic transactions accurately.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and provide excellent customer service during every interaction.
- Perform routine checks on your delivery vehicle (motorcycle/scooter) to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and restaurant staff regarding order status, delays, or issues.
- Represent Hungry.mu positively and professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid motorcycle/scooter driving license (Category A or equivalent).
- Proven experience in delivery, courier, or related fields (minimum 6 months).
- Good knowledge of Port Louis road networks and landmarks, especially China Town.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication abilities.
- Ability to use GPS navigation systems and smartphone applications effectively.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Hungry.mu platform as a user or previous delivery experience with a similar service.
- Fluency in English and Creole; French is a plus.
- Own reliable motorcycle/scooter with valid insurance and road tax.
- A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
