As a Customer Service Representative ‘For Foreigners’, you will be the first point of contact for individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them understand our services, resolve queries, and feel supported throughout their interaction with us.

Your day will involve a variety of tasks, from responding to inquiries via phone, email, and live chat to guiding clients through application processes or explaining complex information in an easy-to-understand manner. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and empathetically to customer inquiries via phone, email, and live chat, prioritizing support for international clients and newcomers.
  • Provide accurate, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive information about products, services, and policies.
  • Assist customers in navigating various processes, forms, and digital platforms, breaking down complex information into easily digestible steps.
  • Act as a liaison, connecting clients with appropriate internal departments or external resources when necessary.
  • Document customer interactions thoroughly and accurately in our CRM system.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to senior team members for resolution, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Gather customer feedback to help improve services and identify common pain points for foreign clients.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, patience, and compassion in all customer interactions.
  • Continuously update knowledge on company offerings, industry trends, and local resources relevant to new arrivals.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a multicultural environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and diverse team environment.
  • Excellent active listening skills and a customer-first mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in one or more additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Punjabi, etc.) is a significant asset.
  • Experience working with diverse client bases or in immigration/settlement services.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and services in the Guelph area.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences).
  • Experience with live chat support systems.
