Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Trainer to join our team in Meru County, Kenya. As an IT Trainer, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering comprehensive computer literacy and advanced IT skills programs to a diverse student body. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging curriculum for various IT courses, including but not limited to Basic Computer Applications (MS Office), Networking Fundamentals, Web Development Basics, and Introduction to Programming.
  • Conduct classroom training sessions, workshops, and practical labs, ensuring a hands-on learning experience for all students.
  • Prepare lesson plans, training materials, instructional videos, and other educational resources.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Provide one-on-one support and mentorship to students, addressing their individual learning needs and challenges.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT trends, software, and hardware, integrating new information into the curriculum.
  • Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring an inclusive and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to continuously improve course content and teaching methodologies.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of computer lab equipment and software.
  • Assist in the recruitment and enrollment of new students by showcasing the value of our IT programs.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN)
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili
  • Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts in an understandable manner
  • Strong classroom management and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education (with IT specialization), or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Educator).
  • Previous experience teaching IT courses in a vocational school or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of basic graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva).
  • Familiarity with digital marketing concepts.
