Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Support the comprehensive budgeting and forecasting processes, including data gathering, variance analysis, and initial recommendations.
  • Perform accurate and timely financial data entry, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and adherence to company policies.
  • Execute detailed reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and transactions, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Learn, apply, and contribute to the enhancement of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Assist with financial compliance tasks, including preparing necessary documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects, process improvements, and analytical tasks as required by the senior finance team.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departmental teams to gather financial information, clarify data, and resolve related inquiries efficiently.
  • Maintain and organize financial records and documentation with meticulous attention to detail for audit readiness and easy retrieval.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and departmental meetings to continuously expand financial knowledge and professional skills.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of introductory accounting or finance coursework with strong academic performance
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus but not required
  • Previous part-time work or volunteer experience in a professional office environment
  • Ability to commit to consistent part-time hours during academic terms
