Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all transactions.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support month-end and year-end close procedures, contributing to efficient reporting cycles.
- Prepare and post journal entries, maintaining general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail.
- Help in the preparation of various financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing data and analysis as required.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies and relevant Canadian accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to gather necessary financial information and insights.
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and analyses, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Maintain organized, comprehensive, and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Respond promptly and professionally to financial inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience (international experience is highly valued).
- Strong foundational understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada (e.g., valid work permit, permanent residency, or citizenship).

- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS) or a keen interest to learn.
- Enrollment in or a strong desire to pursue a Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA).
