Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across various age groups and abilities, often with minimal preparation time.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment for all students.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding guidelines, punctuality, and communication protocols.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit different learning styles and school contexts.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback where required.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student behaviour, progress, and any concerns.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions within the school community.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable experience teaching the English curriculum (Key Stage 1-5, depending on placement).
  • Strong classroom management and behavioural regulation skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in different school settings and with varying age groups.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across multiple key stages (Primary, Secondary).
  • Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
  • Positive references from previous teaching or supply teaching roles.
  • Training in SEN (Special Educational Needs) or pastoral care.
  • A full UK driving license (desirable for wider access to schools).
