Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to learners, focusing on English language development and academic subjects.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) or learning support strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support students in developing independent learning skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to suit diverse learner needs.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage challenging behaviour effectively and promote positive interactions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to student support as required.

Required Skills

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of learning difficulties and differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student development.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
  • Knowledge of specific learning support interventions (e.g., phonics programs).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience in a private educational setting.
