Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize oil and gas production systems, including well completions, artificial lift systems, and surface facilities.
- Conduct reservoir simulations and economic evaluations to support field development plans and asset acquisition decisions.
- Monitor and analyze well and reservoir performance, identifying trends and recommending strategies for production enhancement.
- Develop and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects, including chemical, thermal, and miscible gas injection methods.
- Provide technical support for drilling and workover operations, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (geology, geophysics, drilling, facilities) to integrate data and optimize reservoir management strategies.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and economic justifications for proposed projects and operational changes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical Engineering with petroleum specialization).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in petroleum engineering roles, specifically in reservoir or production engineering.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG, Petrel Reservoir Engineering).
- Strong understanding of well completion technologies, artificial lift systems, and production optimization techniques.
- Experience with economic evaluation software and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Canada or eligibility for registration.
- Experience with unconventional resource plays (shale, tight oil/gas).
- Knowledge of advanced petrophysics and well logging interpretation.
- Familiarity with production chemistry and flow assurance issues.
