Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all hotel operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to high service standards.
  • Manage and mentor a diverse team across various departments (front office, F&B, housekeeping, maintenance).
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals, including revenue growth and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and implement cost-control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Implement innovative ideas to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote the hotel and attract a diverse clientele.
  • Manage supplier relationships and inventory control.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel management, with at least 2 years as a Hotel Manager or Assistant General Manager.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record of managing diverse teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and revenue optimization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Profound understanding of hotel operations, including front office, F&B, and housekeeping.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and adapt to diverse guest needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment.
  • Multilingual abilities (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Mandarin) are a significant advantage.
  • Prior experience working abroad or managing an international clientele.
  • Knowledge of local Edinburgh tourism and market trends.
