Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget, providing personalised recommendations.
- Design and present compelling, tailor-made travel itineraries for individuals, families, and groups across various destinations.
- Book flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, and other travel services using various Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and booking platforms.
- Provide expert advice on destinations, local customs, travel regulations, visa requirements, and essential health precautions.
- Process payments, issue tickets, and confirm all travel arrangements accurately and efficiently, ensuring smooth operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support and assistance before, during, and after their trips.
- Stay updated on travel trends, new destinations, supplier promotions, and industry news to enhance service offerings.
- Resolve client inquiries, complaints, or travel-related issues promptly and professionally, demonstrating problem-solving skills.
- Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to the overall success of the branch.
- Promote additional services such as travel insurance, excursions, guided tours, and premium upgrades to enrich client experiences.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with clients and partners.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Travel Consultant or in a similar customer-facing role within the travel industry.
- Proven sales and customer service experience with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
- Strong geographical knowledge of international destinations, major airlines, and popular travel routes.
- Proficiency in GDS (Global Distribution System) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo, or other relevant booking platforms.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, capable of building rapport quickly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bookings simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing client needs and unexpected situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience with CRM software for managing client relationships and sales pipelines.
- Extensive personal travel experience to a variety of international destinations, offering first-hand insights.
- Knowledge of an additional language is considered a significant advantage.
- Certification from a recognised travel industry body (e.g., ABTA, IATA).
