Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate educational activities and play opportunities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Observe, assess, and record children's development, maintaining accurate records and progress reports.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians, providing updates on their child's day and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Assist children with personal care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and toileting, as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic setting for children to learn and play.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Proven experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a professional setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and implement stimulating educational activities
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early years frameworks
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing disposition
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ Level 2/3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent
- First Aid certification (Paediatric)
- Knowledge of GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child) principles
- Previous experience with diverse learning needs
- Driving license
