Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor all supply chain operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Manage inventory levels, including conducting stock counts, reconciling discrepancies, and placing orders to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Liaise effectively with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth order fulfillment and resolution of issues.
- Track shipments diligently, provide real-time updates to stakeholders, and proactively resolve any delays or issues that may arise.
- Prepare and accurately process shipping documents, invoices, and customs declarations in strict accordance with regulations.
- Analyze logistics data and metrics to identify areas for process improvement and implement cost-effective, efficient solutions.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and other third-party logistics providers.
- Ensure strict compliance with all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize ERP/WMS systems for accurate data entry, reporting, and operational management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar supply chain role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, warehousing, and transportation.
- Proficiency in logistics software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Excellent organizational skills, with a keen ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a valuable team member.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CILT).
- Experience working within the agricultural, manufacturing, or distribution sector.
- In-depth knowledge of Kenyan import/export procedures, customs regulations, and local logistics landscape.
