Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computational Biologist to join our pioneering remote team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing computational pipelines, performing advanced statistical analysis on large-scale biological data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc.), and developing predictive models. This role demands a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of biological principles and a robust skill set in programming, statistics, and machine learning. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust computational pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput biological data (e.g., RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, proteomics).
- Perform advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining on diverse biological datasets to identify patterns, insights, and novel biomarkers.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret findings, refine hypotheses, and design subsequent experiments.
- Develop and maintain custom scripts and software tools in languages such as Python or R to address specific research questions.
- Present research findings, methodologies, and conclusions to internal teams and potentially at external scientific conferences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and relevant therapeutic areas.
- Contribute to scientific publications and patent applications.
- Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and compliance with best practices in computational research.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of post-graduate experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, preferably within a research or industry setting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and pipeline development.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms applied to biological data.
- Expertise in analyzing next-generation sequencing data (e.g., RNA-Seq, WGS, WES, ChIP-Seq).
- Familiarity with public bioinformatics databases and tools (e.g., NCBI, UCSC Genome Browser, Ensembl).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
