Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable, and automated software delivery.
  • Manage and provision highly available cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Implement and manage scalable container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or similar languages to streamline operational tasks and reduce manual effort.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high availability and robust disaster recovery strategies are in place.
  • Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization.
  • Implement and enforce stringent security best practices across the entire infrastructure and application stack.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support for critical systems and production incidents.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve our DevOps practices and infrastructure.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices comprehensively for team knowledge sharing and operational consistency.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including hands-on experience with core services.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI) for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for scalable infrastructure management.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation and system management.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk) for system observability.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills, including command-line tools and system troubleshooting.
  • In-depth understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and best practices for cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and effective communication skills for a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).
  • Familiarity with database administration (both SQL and NoSQL databases) in a cloud context.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment with a focus on rapid iteration.
  • Understanding of security compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001).
