Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, including range of motion, strength, balance, and neurological function.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs and rehabilitation goals.
  • Administer a variety of physiotherapy interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
  • Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to all provincial and national professional practice guidelines and ethical codes.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) or equivalent recognized qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of post-registration clinical experience in diverse settings.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory assessments.
  • Strong hands-on manual therapy skills and expertise in therapeutic exercise prescription.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization or advanced certifications in areas such as orthopaedics, sports physiotherapy, or neurological rehabilitation.
  • Experience with advanced modalities or techniques (e.g., dry needling, vestibular rehabilitation).
  • Previous experience working with a diverse patient population or in a private practice setting.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interest in community health and wellness initiatives.
