Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, including range of motion, strength, balance, and neurological function.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs and rehabilitation goals.
- Administer a variety of physiotherapy interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to all provincial and national professional practice guidelines and ethical codes.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) or equivalent recognized qualification from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2-3 years of post-registration clinical experience in diverse settings.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory assessments.
- Strong hands-on manual therapy skills and expertise in therapeutic exercise prescription.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialization or advanced certifications in areas such as orthopaedics, sports physiotherapy, or neurological rehabilitation.
- Experience with advanced modalities or techniques (e.g., dry needling, vestibular rehabilitation).
- Previous experience working with a diverse patient population or in a private practice setting.
