Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and advanced repair procedures across a wide range of makes and models.
- Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and vehicle inspections in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Execute complex mechanical and electrical repairs, including engine, transmission, braking systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
- Utilise diagnostic software and equipment to accurately identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workshop at all times.
- Provide expert advice and technical support to service advisors and customers regarding vehicle conditions and repair requirements.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills to keep pace with evolving automotive technologies and trends.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and efficient service delivery.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Technician in a professional workshop setting.
- Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic equipment and software.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, engine management, and modern vehicle technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- MOT Tester certification (Classes 4 & 7).
- Experience with specific prestige or luxury vehicle brands.
- Advanced training or certifications in hybrid/electric vehicle technology.
- Manufacturer-specific training certifications.
- Proficiency with workshop management software (e.g., Kerridge, Autodata).
