Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized or small-group tutoring sessions in designated subjects (e.g., Mathematics, Sciences, English, Kiswahili, History) based on student needs.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans and strategies to address specific academic challenges and goals.
- Prepare engaging and relevant instructional materials, exercises, and assessments.
- Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and confidence-building learning environment.
- Stay updated on curriculum requirements and best teaching practices.
- Maintain a professional and punctual approach to all scheduled sessions.
Required Skills
- Excellent subject matter expertise in at least two academic areas relevant to the Kenyan curriculum (KCPE/KCSE).
- Proven ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students of various ages.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and student success.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Reliable access to transport or internet for hybrid/remote sessions as agreed.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant academic field.
- Teaching certification or professional development in education.
- Previous experience as a private tutor, teacher, or teaching assistant.
