Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret screenplays and develop a cohesive artistic vision for film projects.
  • Lead and motivate cast and crew throughout all stages of production, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Oversee casting, set design, cinematography, editing, sound, and visual effects to align with the creative direction.
  • Manage production schedules and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within financial parameters.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, writers, and other department heads to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback and direction to actors and technical personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry best practices on set.
  • Participate in post-production, including editing, sound mixing, and color grading, to finalize the film.
  • Represent the production at festivals, screenings, and promotional events as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record of directing at least 3-5 feature films or significant short films/documentaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strong visual and narrative style.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of film production, including cinematography, editing, sound design, and acting techniques.
  • Proficiency in script analysis and adaptation for screen.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and resilience under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) to a professional working standard.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates).
