As a Prosthetist with Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in our mission to deliver personalized and innovative prosthetic solutions. You will work within a collaborative healthcare environment, closely interacting with patients, their families, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Your daily responsibilities will span the entire patient journey, involving comprehensive evaluations, precise measurement, design, fabrication, and meticulous fitting of custom prosthetic devices tailored to individual needs and lifestyles. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients requiring prosthetic limbs.
- Design, measure, cast, and fit custom prosthetic devices tailored to individual patient needs.
- Fabricate, adjust, repair, and maintain prosthetic devices using various materials and techniques.
- Educate patients and their families on the proper use, care, and maintenance of their prostheses.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Provide ongoing follow-up care, including adjustments and modifications, to ensure optimal fit and function.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about new prosthetic technologies, materials, and clinical practices through continuing education.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards in the fabrication and fitting processes.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Prosthetist (C.P.) by a recognized professional body (e.g., ABC, BOC, or equivalent Canadian certification).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a certified Prosthetist.
- In-depth knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and various prosthetic components and materials.
- Proficiency in casting, measurement, fabrication, and fitting techniques for a wide range of prosthetic devices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology in prosthetic design.
- Specialization in specific prosthetic areas (e.g., microprocessor knees, bionic hands).
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset, given the Dieppe, Moncton location.
- Experience supervising prosthetic residents or students.
