Job Description
Career.zycto is proud to recruit on behalf of a prestigious sports and leisure facility, seeking a dedicated and dynamic Seasonal Skiing Instructor. This unique opportunity, based in Greenwich, London, offers you the chance to share your passion for skiing and inspire learners of all ages and abilities. As a Skiing Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and safe skiing lessons, ensuring every participant has an enjoyable and educational experience on the slopes. This role is perfect for individuals who possess excellent communication skills, a patient and encouraging demeanor, and a genuine love for winter sports.
You will work with diverse groups, from absolute beginners taking their first slide to intermediate skiers looking to refine their technique. Your primary goal will be to foster a positive learning environment, adapting your teaching methods to suit various learning styles and physical capabilities. Safety is paramount; therefore, you will consistently monitor participants and equipment, adhering strictly to all health and safety protocols. Beyond instruction, you will contribute to the overall smooth operation of the ski area, assisting with equipment setup, maintenance checks, and participant registration as needed. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective skiing lessons to individuals and groups of varying skill levels and ages.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assess participant abilities and adapt teaching techniques to meet individual learning needs and goals.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help participants improve their skiing skills.
- Prepare and maintain teaching equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and safe for use.
- Assist with participant registration, booking, and administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor, representing our client's facility effectively.
- Stay updated with best practices in ski instruction and safety.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable expertise in skiing techniques and instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of ski safety regulations and first aid principles.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively with children and adults.
- Adaptability to changing weather conditions and group dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid ski instructor certification from a recognized national or international body (e.g., BASI, CSIA, PSIA, ISIA).
- Previous experience as a ski instructor, particularly in a recreational or educational setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
