Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Team Lead to join our dynamic Corporate Communications and Marketing department. This is a pivotal role that will see you spearheading all visual communication efforts, ensuring brand consistency and creative excellence across various platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small, dedicated design team, managing projects from conception to completion, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders across departments such as HR, Safety, Investor Relations, and Community Engagement. You will be instrumental in translating our corporate vision and values into compelling visual narratives, enhancing our internal and external brand presence. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of graphic designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance creative environment.
  • Oversee the conceptualization, design, and execution of all visual communication materials, including corporate reports, presentations, digital assets, internal communications, safety campaigns, and community outreach materials.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Blanket Gold Mine's brand guidelines and visual identity across all platforms and projects.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to understand their design needs and translate complex information into clear, engaging, and impactful visuals.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide creative direction and constructive feedback to team members to elevate the quality and effectiveness of design outputs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, tools, and best practices in graphic design, UI/UX, and visual communication.
  • Present design concepts and finished work to stakeholders, articulating the creative vision and strategic rationale.
  • Contribute to the development of design strategies that support the company’s corporate communications and marketing objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate professional development opportunities for the design team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a design team.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating diverse design experience across print and digital media.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate communications, mining, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
  • Knowledge of UI/UX principles for digital platforms.
