Career.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Superintendent to join a dynamic team, overseeing challenging construction projects in the Gary, Indiana area. As a Site Superintendent, you will be the cornerstone of on-site operations, directly responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closure of projects. You will coordinate all field activities, manage subcontractors, ensure adherence to schedules and budgets, and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed according to plans, specifications, and established timelines.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules, including short-term look-ahead schedules, and ensure all team members adhere to them.
- Implement and rigorously enforce site-specific safety plans, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to foster a culture of safety.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Conduct daily progress meetings, provide regular updates to the Project Manager, and maintain detailed daily logs of site activities.
- Monitor project quality control, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards and complies with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents to guide site operations.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts on site promptly, minimizing delays and maintaining project momentum.
- Manage site logistics, material procurement, and equipment utilization to optimize resources.
- Facilitate site inspections, permitting processes, and ensure all necessary documentation is in order.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in commercial or industrial construction.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations (OSHA 30 certification preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Proven track record of managing project schedules, budgets, and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
- LEED AP or other relevant environmental certifications.
- Experience with design-build project delivery methods.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
