Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead engaging individual and group drama therapy sessions for diverse client populations.
- Develop and implement tailored creative therapeutic interventions that align with client treatment goals.
- Conduct thorough client assessments, formulate individualized treatment plans, and regularly review progress.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in compliance with professional standards and organizational policies.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including other therapists, social workers, and support staff.
- Actively participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of our therapeutic programs and services.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive therapeutic environment that promotes client well-being and engagement.
- Educate clients and their families about drama therapy processes and expected outcomes.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Drama Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Active membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CCPA, OACCPP, AATQ, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of proven post-graduate experience in facilitating therapeutic groups and individual sessions.
- Strong theoretical understanding of psychological principles, therapeutic models, and group dynamics.
- Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with a high degree of empathy and active listening.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with diverse client populations and cultural backgrounds.
- Fluency in both French and English (oral and written) is essential for effective client interaction in Montreal.
- Proficiency in creating and adapting dramatic techniques for therapeutic purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications or training in related therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care).
- Experience working specifically with youth, trauma survivors, individuals with neurodevelopmental differences, or senior populations.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate drama therapy with other arts-based approaches.
