Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Gym Manager to lead our state-of-the-art fitness facility in the heart of Riverbend, Edmonton. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily operations of the gym, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and member experience.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate gym staff, including personal trainers, group exercise instructors, and front desk personnel.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase membership sales and improve member retention.
  • Oversee the development and scheduling of fitness programs, classes, and personal training services.
  • Manage facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and inventory control.
  • Handle member inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, revenue generation, and expense management.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture for both members and staff.
  • Organize and promote gym events, workshops, and community outreach programs.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in the fitness or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in gym management software and basic office applications.
  • Solid understanding of fitness trends, exercise physiology, and nutrition.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, achieve sales targets, and control operational costs.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Nationally recognized personal training or group exercise certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, CanFitPro).
  • Experience with marketing and social media promotion for a fitness brand.
  • Proficiency in a second language.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt to changing market demands.
