Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for children, fostering a safe and engaging environment.
- Assist with children's daily routines, including getting ready for school, mealtimes, and bedtime.
- Engage children in educational and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for children.
- Perform light household tasks primarily related to the children, such as tidying play areas, children's laundry, and organizing their belongings.
- Assist with school drop-offs and pick-ups, if required and a valid driver's license is held.
- Communicate regularly and openly with the host family regarding the children's well-being and daily activities.
- Respect the family's rules and household routines while enjoying the cultural exchange.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for children and prior experience in childcare (formal or informal).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Reliable, responsible, and mature demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to new environments and cultures.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively around studies.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program or planning to enroll.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as an Au Pair, nanny, or similar childcare role.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- References from previous childcare experiences.
