Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, visual field tests, and internal/external eye health assessments.
- Diagnose and treat ocular diseases and conditions, prescribing medications as appropriate.
- Prescribe, fit, and evaluate contact lenses and eyeglasses, ensuring optimal vision correction.
- Co-manage patients with ophthalmologists for advanced surgical or medical interventions.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens hygiene, and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with optical staff to ensure seamless patient experience and accurate dispensing of eyewear.
- Stay current with advancements in optometric practice, technology, and treatment modalities.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state Optometry license in Indiana.
- Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain).
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive eye examinations for diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating ocular diseases and visual system disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- 1-3 years of post-licensure experience in an optometric practice setting.
