Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient transport plans and routes for vehicle fleets.
- Allocate resources (vehicles, drivers) effectively to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
- Monitor and track shipments in real-time, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, clients, and internal departments.
- Ensure all transport operations comply with relevant regulations, including WTD and tachograph rules.
- Manage and process transport documentation accurately.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies without compromising service.
- Respond to and resolve operational challenges, diversions, and emergencies promptly.
- Utilise transport management systems (TMS) for planning, scheduling, and data analysis.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of transport processes and strategies.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) to a professional standard.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
- Proficiency with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
