Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
  • Analyze grant guidelines, eligibility criteria, and submission requirements to ensure alignment with client projects and organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective grants, tracking deadlines and progress using various tools.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams to gather necessary information, data, and documentation for grant applications.
  • Craft persuasive, well-researched, and articulate grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents that tell a compelling story.
  • Manage the full grant application submission process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Monitor awarded grants, assist with reporting requirements, and contribute to post-award management activities.
  • Stay informed about current funding trends, changes in grant regulations, and best practices in grant research and writing.
  • Maintain organized, detailed records of all grant activities, communications, and outcomes in a systematic manner.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in grant research, proposal writing, and successful grant acquisition.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong emphasis on persuasive writing.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, capable of deciphering complex requirements and data.
  • Proficiency in using grant databases and research tools (e.g., Foundation Directory Online, Grants.gov, various provincial/federal portals).
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
  • High degree of professionalism, ethical conduct, and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Non-profit Management, Public Administration, Research, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse client portfolios (e.g., non-profits, academic institutions, research organizations, public sector entities).
  • Familiarity with project management tools and CRM systems for tracking grant cycles.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a significant asset, especially for clients operating in Quebec.
  • Grant Professional Certified (GPC) designation or similar professional certification.
