Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated premises, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect suspicious activities.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarms, and respond promptly to any alerts or irregularities.
- Control access to restricted areas, verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the property.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations such as medical incidents, fires, and security breaches, following established protocols.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation as required.
- Enforce company policies, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Provide assistance and information to visitors, employees, and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- De-escalate tense situations and handle conflict professionally, maintaining calm and control.
Required Skills
- Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Security Guard License in Manitoba.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods.
- Possess or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role, even if limited, is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset for the St. Boniface community.
- Experience with various security software and alarm systems.
- Training in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
