Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Support Technician to join our growing team in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. As an IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for our employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and professionally. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line technical support to internal users via phone, email, and in-person, ensuring timely and effective resolution of IT issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications, including laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN connections.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory and other relevant systems.
  • Perform regular system diagnostics and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Document all support activities, resolutions, and system configurations accurately within our ticketing system.
  • Assist with IT asset management, including tracking inventory, procurement, and decommissioning of equipment.
  • Support software installations, upgrades, and patching for various applications.
  • Educate users on IT best practices and security awareness.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on project work, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for clear communication.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Active Directory user and group management.
  • Solid knowledge of computer hardware, including troubleshooting and component replacement.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification.
  • Experience with IT service desk ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Management, Zendesk, ServiceNow).
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure).
  • Experience with remote support tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Apple macOS environments.
  • Previous experience in a similar IT support role within a corporate environment.
