Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and expertly fold all hotel linens, including sheets, towels, tablecloths, and napkins, as well as staff uniforms, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers) safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and hotel procedures.
- Thoroughly inspect all items for stains, damage, and wear, applying appropriate stain treatment or reporting items for mending/replacement as necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory of linens, ensuring adequate supplies are readily available for daily operations across all departments.
- Fold and stack clean linens precisely according to hotel standards, preparing them for efficient distribution to guest rooms and other operational areas.
- Keep the laundry area impeccably clean, organized, and free of hazards, strictly adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of laundry equipment and promptly report any malfunctions, repair needs, or safety concerns.
- Assist with the efficient collection of soiled laundry and the timely delivery of clean linens to and from various hotel departments.
- Handle guest laundry and dry cleaning requests with the utmost care, discretion, and confidentiality, ensuring timely processing and return.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards, contributing to a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to cleanliness and quality assurance.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs regularly), and push/pull laundry carts throughout an entire shift.
- Exceptional reliability and punctuality are paramount for maintaining operational flow.
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Basic understanding of commercial laundry equipment operation or a strong willingness to learn rapidly.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel or luxury hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with different fabric types, their care requirements, and appropriate washing techniques.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for operating laundry machinery and handling cleaning chemicals.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
