As a Ramp Agent, you will be a crucial part of our airport operations, directly responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft, baggage, and cargo. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft, adhering to weight and balance guidelines.
- Operate various ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors, and de-icing equipment (after training and certification).
- Marshall aircraft to and from parking positions, using hand signals and communication devices.
- Place and remove chocks, safety cones, and grounding cables for arriving and departing aircraft.
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the ramp area and ground support equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and airport authority procedures.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, airline personnel, and fellow team members.
- Assist with aircraft de-icing/anti-icing procedures during winter months, as required.
- Handle special cargo and hazardous materials according to established protocols.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on all assigned equipment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform duties in all weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of aviation operations or desire to learn quickly.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work environment.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset.
