Career.zycto is seeking experienced English-speaking Pipe Fitters to join our dynamic teams working on critical industrial and commercial projects across the region. In this vital role, you will be directly responsible for the precise installation, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of complex piping systems designed to transport various liquids, gases, and semi-solid materials. Your work will involve handling a wide array of pipe materials, including but not limited to carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and PVC, adapting to diverse operational settings such as manufacturing plants, power generation facilities, commercial buildings, and marine infrastructure.

This position demands an exceptional eye for detail, an unwavering commitment to stringent safety protocols, and the expert ability to accurately interpret intricate blueprints, P&ID schematics, and isometric drawings. You will be instrumental in ensuring the structural integrity, optimal functionality, and leak-proof performance of critical infrastructure, adhering meticulously to industry standards, CSA codes, and local building regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings to determine pipe layouts and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and weld pipes to required dimensions and angles using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Assemble and install various piping systems, including supports, valves, fittings, and other components according to design specifications.
  • Inspect and test installed pipes and systems for leaks, proper functionality, and compliance with codes and standards.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace worn or damaged existing piping systems and components.
  • Ensure all work adheres strictly to safety regulations, quality control standards, and project timelines.
  • Operate pipe cutting and bending machines, as well as various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively with welders, engineers, other trades, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, P&ID's (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and isometric drawings.
  • Expertise in various pipe joining techniques including welding, soldering, brazing, threading, and grooving.
  • Strong understanding of different pipe materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and their applications.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety codes and industry standards (e.g., CSA B51, ASME B31.3).
  • Ability to safely and proficiently use a wide range of hand and power tools specific to pipe fitting.
  • Excellent spatial reasoning, mathematical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven physical stamina, dexterity, and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication for safety and instruction).
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Pipe Fitter certification.
  • Additional welding certifications (e.g., CWB, TIG, MIG).
  • Experience with specific industrial piping systems (e.g., high-pressure steam, hydraulic, pneumatic).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Fall Protection and Confined Space entry certifications.
  • Heavy equipment operator experience (e.g., forklift, boom lift, scissor lift).
