Your daily work will involve a deep dive into the intricacies of payment lifecycles. From initial transaction initiation to final settlement, you will meticulously monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively troubleshoot any issues that arise. This role demands a sharp mind capable of conducting thorough root cause analysis for payment discrepancies, chargebacks, and exceptions, swiftly implementing solutions to prevent recurrence. You will collaborate closely with our IT, finance, and operational teams, acting as a vital bridge between technical capabilities and business requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to payment processing, transactions, and system integrations.
- Monitor payment system performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements for efficiency and stability.
- Collaborate with internal teams (IT, finance, operations) and external vendors to ensure seamless payment system functionality.
- Conduct root cause analysis for payment discrepancies and exceptions, implementing preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain documentation for payment system processes, configurations, and incident resolutions.
- Participate in the testing and implementation of new payment features, enhancements, and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with payment industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, NACHA) and regulatory requirements.
- Generate reports and provide insights on payment transaction volumes, success rates, and associated costs.
- Support audit requests and internal control evaluations related to payment systems.
- Provide subject matter expertise on payment methods, gateways, and related technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in payment systems analysis or a related financial technology role.
- Strong understanding of payment processing workflows, protocols (e.g., ACH, Wire, Card, RTP), and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, BI platforms) for transaction monitoring and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with various payment gateways, processors, and banking systems.
- Familiarity with financial reconciliation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in payment systems (e.g., Accredited ACH Professional – AAP, Certified Payments Professional – CPP).
- Experience with specific payment platforms or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fiserv, Stripe, Adyen).
