As a Joiner with Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fittings in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise will contribute to a wide array of projects, from bespoke furniture and intricate architectural elements to robust structural components and finishing touches on new builds and renovations. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and materials required.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, laminates, and other materials according to specifications.
- Install fixtures, such as doors, windows, staircases, mouldings, and cabinetry.
- Construct and repair various wooden structures, including partitions, wall frames, and roof trusses.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including saws, drills, sanders, and routers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople, project managers, and clients to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Perform quality checks on finished work to ensure high standards of craftsmanship.
- Undertake remedial work and repairs as necessary to maintain structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Joiner or Carpenter.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, materials, and their properties.
- Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Joinery or Carpentry.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is highly desirable.
- Experience working on diverse construction projects (residential, commercial, industrial).
- Familiarity with UK building regulations and safety standards.
- Basic understanding of English language for communication and safety instructions.
