Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain gas appliances and central heating systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct comprehensive gas safety checks, fault finding, and diagnostic work on various gas installations.
- Issue relevant certification, including Landlord Gas Safety Records (CP12) and service reports.
- Adhere strictly to UK gas safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service, clearly explaining work carried out and offering advice on gas safety and energy efficiency.
- Manage workload efficiently, including planning appointments, ordering parts, and accurately completing documentation.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency repairs as required.
- Undertake continuous professional development to stay updated with new technologies and regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Gas Engineer.
- Valid Gas Safe Registration (or demonstrable ability to obtain upon arrival/employment).
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance (or equivalent international qualification).
- Solid understanding of gas regulations, safety procedures, and diagnostic techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full valid driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial gas systems.
- ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1) or equivalent international certifications recognized by Gas Safe.
- Additional qualifications in plumbing or electrical work.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with smart heating controls and renewable energy systems.
