Key Responsibilities
- Perform actuarial valuations and calculations for defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans.
- Prepare annual valuation reports, government filings (e.g., Form 5500), and participant statements.
- Conduct data analysis, reconciliations, and audits of client data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new pension plans or amendments to existing plans.
- Interpret and apply complex pension legislation (ERISA, IRS, DOL) to ensure compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, answering inquiries and explaining plan provisions and results.
- Collaborate with actuaries, consultants, and other team members on various projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay abreast of industry trends and regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in pension plan administration, actuarial consulting, or a related financial services role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data manipulation).
- Solid understanding of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plan principles and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
